Award Campaign to Encourage Rural Local Self-Government Institutions
Campaign Overview
From the financial year 2025โ26 onwards, the "Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayat Raj Abhiyan" will be implemented as an award campaign to encourage Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, and Zilla Parishads, which primarily function as local self-government institutions in rural areas, at four levels โ Taluka, District, Division and State.

๐ Award Levels: Taluka, District, Division, and State
Awards will be given to local self-government institutions that deliver outstanding performance at the Taluka, District, Division, and State levels. This campaign will emphasize people's participation through Shramdaan (voluntary labour) to build a mass movement.
7 Main Components
The campaign comprises seven essential components as follows
Good Governance Panchayat
Establishing transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric administration. Implementing good administrative practices in Gram Panchayats and providing quality services to citizens.
Empowered Panchayat
Making Panchayats financially and administratively capable. Enhancing capacity to make local self-government institutions self-reliant and self-sufficient.
Water-Rich, Clean and Green Village
Emphasizing water conservation, cleanliness, and green revolution. Making villages water-rich, clean, and environmentally sustainable. Achieving sustainable development through afforestation and water source development.
Convergence of MGNREGA and Other Schemes
Achieving effective coordination of MGNREGA and other government schemes. Optimal utilization of resources through integrated planning of various schemes.
Institutional Strengthening at Village Level
Empowering institutions and committees at the village level. Strengthening Gram Sabha, Cluster Development Officers, and Self-Help Groups.
Livelihood Development and Social Justice
Implementing initiatives for employment generation and income enhancement in rural areas. Ensuring social equity and justice. Achieving inclusive development.
People's Participation through Shramdaan
Building a mass movement through voluntary labour (Shramdaan). Involving villagers in development work. Creating a sense of ownership by increasing community participation.
